Moldovan militaries – students at West Point and the USA Air Force Academy
The National Army militaries chosen to study at West Point and Air Force Academy of the United States of America, swore the oath of the Republic of Moldova today.
The event was developed in the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, the participants were: the command of the institution, parents and relatives of the two students.
Pavel Delimarschi is the first Moldovan student to study at the prestigious West Point Military Academy and Anton Cebanu will be registered at the Military Academy of the Air Forces. The students will study for four years, and at their return they will be employed in the military service in the National Army.
Andrei Pascal said that the two militaries were selected by a Moldovan-American committee. 16 people took part in the competition. The candidates selection included a physical training test – a test of speed, throwing the basketball, raising trunk at the fixed traction bar, push-ups, a resistance test over a distance of 1,600 meters, a test of English language proficiency (TOEFL – 98) and academic aptitude test – SAT (Scholastic aptitude test).
The mentioned persons were registered according with the admission competition to higher military education institutions in the USA, organized in autumn 2012 by the military representatives of the USA Embassy in Chisinau and the Ministry of Defence.
Pavel Delimarschi and Anton Cebanu will be present in the respective academies by the end of June.
