The Commemoration of Afghanistan Heroes at the Military Academy
CHISINAU, February 16 th 2015 – “Alexandru cel Bun” Armed Forces Military Academy’s personnel commemorated today, February 16 th, the victims of Afghanistan war.
Within the activity, the military personnel, the students and faculty held a moment of silence.
The Commander (rector) of the Military Academy, Colonel Mihail Bucliş stated that: “It is the duty of each of us to keep the memory of fallen heroes on the battlefield in Afghanistan war, wherein our fellow citizens suffered. We, the military must know our veterans from whom we could learn “.
Some participants of Afghanistan war work, at “Alexandru cel Bun” Armed Forces Military Academy, as teachers. They instruct the students in the area of military art. As a sign of gratitude, the students offered each participant a bouquet of flowers.
The official statistics show that during the years of 1979-1989, 12 500 Moldovans praticipated in Afghanistan war; 301 military were killed; four disappeared , and another 257 became disabled.
