Current issues of national security studied by civil servants

For the first time from the 9th of January till the 18th of April, 2014 the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun”, supported by the Ministry of Defence, runs the Postgraduate course in the security domain and national defence entitled “Current Issues of the national security ”.

The Political-military course organized by the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” is for officials and representatives of civil society, NGOs all being responsible for the policy of development and of the policies that concern the security and defence of the state.

The Defence Minister Vitalie Marinuta present at the opening ceremony said that the organization of this course is the need to better understand the security and defence sector, an important area for the Republic of Moldova.

“For the Ministry of Defense it is essential to understand that the security and defense sector reform is not just the responsibility of the institution they lead. It involves a number of state agencies such as the Intelligence and Security service, the Ministry of Home Affairs, Ministry of Justice, Supreme Security Council and NGOs. That is why it is vital that all parties should acknowledge their role and join their efforts to achieve this objective. And this course that we realized with the help of our external partners will certainly be of benefit to those who want a deeper understanding of this important area”, said Vitalie Marinuta.

According to the commander – rector of the Military Academy of the Armed Forces “Alexandru cel Bun” Colonel Mihail Buclis, this course is equivalent to postgraduate studies in national education and includes theoretical and practical approaches of the current national and international security issues .

It was mentioned that at the course were enrolled 31 specialists from the Ministry of Justice, Ministry of Home Affairs, Defence Ministry, Security and Intelligence Service and Promolex Association. The lectures of this course will be representatives of the academics of our country and abroad who are experts in security and defence domain.
