Military Academy MA students have received the graduation diplomas

CHISINAU, December 19th, 2014 – Minister of Defense Valeriu Troenco, handed out diplomas to Master Degree graduates in “Security and Defense” of the Armed Forces Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun”, during a ceremony held at the Ministry of Defense.

Minister of Defense Valeriu Troenco congratulated those 28 graduates of the master’s course and expressed confidence that they will apply the knowledge gained during studies in their professional activity.

“Taking into consideration the imperatives and the rigors of time in which we find ourselves, it is an appropriate opportunity to provide National Army personnel as well as civilians with the possibility to explore and identify the field of security and defense, which is an indispensable element of our state nowadays.” stated the Minister of Defense.

The Minister of Defense thanked the partners from Austria, Canada, Czech Republic, Switzerland, Romania, Sweden and the US who have made a significant contribution to the preparation of MA students; and teaching staff of the Military Academy.

During the event, the best graduate of the class 2014 lieutenant colonel (r) Dacin Octavian, was awarded the “White Gun Nominal”.

According to the commander (rector) of the Armed Forces Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun” colonel Mihail Bucliş the objective of the MA program is to train qualified specialists in the field of “Security and defense”, theoretical approaches and practical knowledge of the field of national and international security. The MA program within the Military Academy is 18-months long, and its curricula covers the fundamental disciplines of “security and defense” specialty.

The cited source said that the proposed research topics included conceptual approach of state security, defining the specialized terms regarding the national security, treatment of the national security in terms of foreign influence and intervention, geopolitical identification of the Republic of Moldova, regional and interstate relations analysis, as well as evaluation of the diplomatic and military contribution to strengthening state sovereignty and security of the country.

The second promotion of MA students of the Armed Forces Military Academy “Alexandru cel Bun” specialized in the field of “Security and defense” has 28 graduates, National Army military personnel,  representatives of the Border Police, Carabineer Troops and Department of Penitentiary Institutions, and from academia and private sector.
