British experience for the participating team in the Cambrian Patrol 2017 exercise

CHIŞINĂU, July 26, 2017 – Within the Armed Forces Military Academy   “Alexandru cel Bun” took place the appointment of the deputy military officer of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland in Chişinău, Andrew Swann with the militaries expected to participate in the Cambrian Patrol 2017 international competition.
Mr. Andrew Swann spoke about his experience of participating in the above mentioned competition, pointing out that it is considered one of the most difficult competition in the world and represents a real challenge. Participating teams have a 50-kilometer route in less than 48 hours, while they perform different types of missions in the Cambrian mountains and the hills in Wales. The competition takes place both during the day and during the night.
According to first lieutenant Pavel Popovici,  the team’s superior,  mentioned that participation in the competition requires a special physical training. Within it, the militaries have to carry out several missions along their route, such as observing, giving first aid, evacuating the wounded, recognizing vehicles and equipment, and crossing the river with full equipment without boats.
This international military patrolling competition takes place annually in the Cambrian Mountains and the Military Academy team will participate for the first time from the behalf of the National Army.
